At Jefferson Academy our educators are driven by state standards however; the fluid design of our classroom setting allows students to function at their ability level. Placement assessments are administered to determine individual academic level of performance in all curricular domains and individualized Learning Plans (ILP) with quarterly goals are designed in partnership with the parent to achieve maximum success in every child.
In order to optimize instructional time, Jefferson Academy uses Bruner’s Constructivist philosophy as a framework for organization, Madeline Hunter’s lesson plan design for consistency of instruction, and Montessori’s theory of hands-on experiential learning for relevancy to bridge hands-on learning with Standards Based Instruction.
